The Richard Avedon Foundation asked for a space and portrait arrangement which would celebrate the range of Avedon’s subjects, in a way that would allow guests to compare the way Avedon captured the essence of the person behind the lens, meanwhile taking the public on a journey that drew connections between Avedon’s work in Paris and New York.
